Actress Anna Friel researched her role as a photographer in Fields of Gold by spending a day as a Guardian photographer. Sent to cover the memorial service for the anti-apartheid campaigner Donald Woods, the actress found it so moving she burst into tears and was unable to take any pictures at all.
